Human Resources and Payroll Specialist at Sparks Group

About the Job
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced HR Specialist to provide essential support to our HR team. This is a 4-month contract position with the potential for extension. As an HR Specialist, you will primarily focus on payroll administration, benefits administration, and general HR support.
Responsibilities:
- Payroll:
- Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and timely.
- Maintain employee records, including time off, deductions, and benefits.
- Reconcile payroll to general ledger and bank statements.
- Assist with year-end close processes.
- Benefits:
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and flexible spending accounts.
- Process enrollments, changes, and terminations.
- Respond to employee inquiries related to benefits.
- General HR:
- Assist with various HR tasks, such as onboarding, offboarding, and recordkeeping.
- Provide support to employees with HR-related questions and concerns.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in HR and/or payroll.
- Proficiency in payroll software (ADP WorkforceNow preferred).
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Additional Information:
- Location: Hybrid role, reporting to Arlington, VA.
- Contract Duration: 4 months, with potential for extension.
