Job Summary
As the Human Resources Manager, you will lead a dedicated team and oversee the daily operations of the HR department, including payroll, benefits administration, and compliance with employment laws. You will play a key role in talent acquisition, employee engagement, and policy implementation. Partnering with leadership, you'll drive initiatives to enhance the employee experience, manage compensation strategies, and ensure a fair and consistent approach to HR practices. This is a hands-on role that requires strategic thinking, strong communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture.
What does a typical day look like?
- Start the day with team alignment: Lead by example, reinforcing core values such as integrity, respect, and fairness in all team interactions.
- Manage payroll operations: Ensure the accuracy and timely submission of bi-weekly payroll and audit processes.
- Oversee compensation programs: Educate employees on the total compensation package, manage variable compensation workflows, and address related inquiries.
- Administer benefits: Ensure timely enrollment and removal of plan members in the benefits program and provide ongoing support for all benefit-related processes.
- Vendor management: Maintain and manage relationships with key vendors, including payroll and benefits providers, benefit brokers, and facility management contacts.
- Policy enforcement: Ensure consistent application of HR policies across the organization and provide guidance as necessary.
- Collaborate with leadership: Work closely with the leadership team to understand and implement HR strategies related to recruitment, talent management, and succession planning.
- Address employee issues: Provide support and advice to HR Generalists, management, and employees on complex issues such as accommodations, investigations, performance management, and terminations.
- Manage performance reviews: Oversee the annual review process, ensuring feedback is timely and aligned with company practices.
- Analyze compensation trends: Research and propose recommendations for compensation adjustments, including base pay and incentive programs, to ensure competitiveness in the marketplace.
- Drive employee experience improvements: Develop and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, supported by data and cost-benefit analysis.
- Compliance monitoring: Stay on top of compliance with OSHA, EEOC, ADA, and other employment laws; review and adjust policies to ensure full compliance.
- Global HR collaboration: Partner with global HR teams to share best practices and continuously improve HR systems, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain HR records: Ensure accurate record-keeping within the HRIS system and generate necessary reports.
- Ad hoc tasks: Perform additional duties as required to support HR operations and organizational goals.
What qualifications are required for this position?
- Post Secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a combination of schooling and experience will be considered. SHRM or HRCI Certification highly desired.
- Minimum of three years directly related Human Resources, with progressive experience and/or responsibilities.
- Payroll processing experience within ADP is preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Forms, and Teams
- Thorough knowledge of federal and state employment laws
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
- Strong oral, written and presentation communication skills
- Proven ability to exercise the utmost discretion in matters of confidentiality
- Strong organizational, problem solving, project management and follow-up skills
- Excellent customer service orientation and ability to interface with all levels of the organization
- Eagerness to learn, a willingness to think outside the box, accept new challenges, and have fun
- Satisfactory completion of background check including criminal, credit and professional references
