Human Resources Manager – Growing Manufacturing Plant in Geneva
Are you an experienced HR professional seeking a career-defining opportunity in a dynamic manufacturing environment? Our client in Geneva is hiring a Human Resources Manager to join their plant leadership team. This pivotal role blends corporate and local HR strategies, focusing on fostering employee engagement, operational excellence, and aligning plant workers with broader organizational goals. This is an on-site position, requiring in-office presence five days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
- HR Leadership & Execution: Oversee and implement HR processes including employee engagement, managerial coaching, performance management, employee relations, case management, FMLA administration, merit/salary planning, and workforce planning using metrics and KPIs.
- Labor Relations: Interpret and enforce labor agreements, manage grievance procedures, and contribute as a co-negotiator during labor negotiations. Build strong relationships with union representatives and lead initiatives for plant-wide change management.
- Advisory Role: Partner with plant leadership to drive employee engagement, team development, and organizational effectiveness. Serve as a trusted advisor on HR matters for both hourly (80%) and salaried (20%) employees.
- Team Development: Mentor and guide the HR team, which includes an HR Generalist and HR Coordinator, to ensure consistent and effective HR support.
- Recruitment Excellence: Collaborate with the corporate RPO vendor to create seamless recruitment processes, from planning and candidate experience to onboarding and acclimation.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
- At least six years of experience as an HR generalist or manager.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing plant environment.
- Strong labor relations expertise, including grievance handling, arbitration, and negotiations.
- Flexibility to ensure HR presence during operating hours (M-F, 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM).
Preferred:
- SPHR or PHR certification.
- Proficiency in PowerBI and advanced Excel skills.
- Exceptional ability to manage competing priorities and maintain focus on strategic initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
