Position Summary: Human Resource Manager, SCM Metals Business Unit
The HR Manager will drive HR strategies and support SCM Metals by promoting compliance, employee engagement, and a high-performance culture. This role requires expertise in manufacturing and corporate HR and includes oversight of an HR Generalist. Responsibilities include talent development, recruitment, employee relations, and continuous process improvement.
Role Responsibilities
- HR Team Leadership
- Supervise and coach an HR Generalist, fostering professional growth and effective HR service delivery.
- Promote a collaborative and accountable team environment.
- Employee Relations and Compliance
- Oversee employee relations, including complex cases and compliance investigations.
- Ensure consistent application of HR policies and compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
- Provide leadership with data-driven insights into employee relations trends for risk mitigation.
- HRIS Management and Reporting
- Manage HRIS for data accuracy and reporting to support decision-making.
- Train and support teams on HRIS use and data access.
- Leverage HRIS data to analyze workforce metrics and advise on HR strategies.
- Talent Acquisition and Development
- Lead recruitment and onboarding processes to ensure high-quality candidate experience.
- Partner with managers on interviewing and candidate selection.
- Drive targeted onboarding and training initiatives for long-term success.
- Policy and Procedure Development
- Maintain and update HR policies for compliance, clarity, and accessibility.
- Regularly review policies to meet evolving business and regulatory requirements.
- Performance Management and Development
- Oversee performance reviews and development planning, aligning with organizational objectives.
- Coach managers on delivering feedback, conducting reviews, and development planning.
- Compensation and Benefits Administration
- Ensure competitive and consistent compensation and benefits programs.
- Oversee salary planning and benefits enrollment, providing clear communication to employees.
- Advise employees and managers on program offerings and assist with inquiries.
- Data-Driven HR Strategy and Metrics
- Track and report key HR metrics, providing insights on workforce trends.
- Create dashboards for leadership’s data-driven decision-making.
- Use analytics to improve HR processes and impact employee engagement.
Requirements
Required Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of employment law and compliance in corporate and manufacturing environments
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms; Paylocity preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to influence and coach managers and employees
- Skilled in employee relations and conflict resolution for complex cases
- Organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate record-keeping
- Effective communication skills to convey HR policies across all levels
- Adaptable to the demands of corporate and manufacturing settings
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required; HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred
- 5-7 years of progressive HR experience, ideally in both corporate and manufacturing environments
- Proven experience in talent acquisition, compliance, and performance management
- Manufacturing or industrial experience strongly preferred
