Our client, a well-respected, well-established, fast-growing team-oriented manufacturing company is looking for a Bilingual Spanish/English H.R. Manger for their facilities located in Melrose Park and Elk Grove Village.
- Hours 7:00 am- 3:30pm with additional hours as necessary.
- Salary range: $75K to $100K
- Must be bilingual Spanish/English
The Human Resources Manager works closely with the management team and supports employees at five locations in Melrose Park (3) and Elk Grove Village (2). This position carries out responsibilities in several functional areas, including new-hire on-boarding, payroll processing oversight, recruiting, employee retention and engagement, mentorship and coaching, and maintaining compliance with state and federal employment laws.

- Partner with the management team to understand and execute HR and talent strategy as it relates to current and future staffing needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
- Foster positive interactions and communication between management/supervisors and employees, addressing workplace concerns, and promoting a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Responsible for employee engagement initiatives.
- Prepare and maintain job descriptions, performance evaluation systems and salary information. Work with Safety Manager to develop job hazard assessments for manufacturing positions and details for inclusion in job descriptions.
- Oversee recruitment efforts for all positions, including sourcing, placing advertisement, reviewing applications/resumes interviewing, and recommending candidates.
- Manage relationships with employment agencies, universities and other recruitment sources.
- Manage new employee orientation process to help foster positive attitudes toward Company goals.
- Administer and explain benefits to employees; serve as liaison between employees and insurance broker/carriers.
- Develop and maintain Employee Engagement and Retention Plan and Strategy to meet company objectives.
- Recommend, develop and schedule training and development courses for employees.
- Ensure Employee Training Plans are developed, administered and tracked as required (ISO).
- Manage annual performance review process to monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback.
- Develop, advise, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook; keep abreast of changes in employment legislation and recommend updates to HR policies and procedures as needed.
- Coordinate the resolution of specific policy-related and procedural problems and inquiries. Manage disciplinary, investigative and termination processes as needed.
- Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, maintaining records, and representing the organization at hearings.
- Keep records of benefit plan participation such as insurance and 401K plan, employee statistics for government reporting, and personnel transactions such as hires, conversions, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, disciplinary actions and terminations.
- Conduct annual Employee Survey to gauge employee satisfaction and make recommendations for improvement.
- Serve as back-up for payroll processing activities; conduct troubleshooting, analysis and research related to payroll processing; work with ADP as appropriate.
- Supervision and mentoring of Payroll/Office Administrator
- Perform other related and incidental duties as required and assigned.

Job Requirements:

- Proficient in ADP Workforce Now, or similar payroll processing software.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance and punctuality, Monday through Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm with additional hours as necessary.
- Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
- Ability to drive between five local manufacturing facilities (three in Melrose Park and two in Elk Grove Village) to perform duties, including being onsite at Elk Grove location one day per week.
Education/Training/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment are strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now or similar payroll processing software required.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Related advance degree and/or HR Certification preferred.
- Specialized training in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, training, and preventive labor relations preferred.
