Job Summary
HRI, Inc., a leader in heavy civil construction since 1947, has an opening for an energetic Human Resources Intern.
The Human Resources Intern position is within our corporate office where we support over 500 employees who lead the industry in water/sewer treatment plant construction, bridge repair and construction, asphalt manufacturing, paving, and site development.
The Human Resources Intern position will report to the Human Resources Manager and will be responsible for a variety of duties.
Main Responsibilities
Scanning sensitive documents into an online data retention system
Processing unemployment in multiple states
Preparing New Hire packets and processing MVR searches
Assist with recruitment efforts, including job posting, candidate screening, and scheduling interviews
Visiting job sites to review EEO posting requirements
Streamline various HR processes, such as employee data management and performance tracking, through HRIS systems
Support the onboarding process for new employees, including preparation of necessary paperwork and conducting orientations
Education
Actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in human resources or another related field is preferred, although equivalent experience will also be considered.
Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Proven track record in a fast paced environment
Ability to work with and connect with cross-functional teams
Strong verbal and written communication skills
High level of efficiency, accuracy, and responsibility
Motivation and strong desire to tackle new challenges and learn as much as possible!
Physical Requirements
Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) when needed
Regularly required to lift and /or move up to with or without assistance, use hands to move and manipulate objects, and communicate (talk and hear)
Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Must follow the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements
Consistent track record working safely
