Human Resources Generalist - Community and Family Resources

About the Job
Community and Family Resources provides substance use, mental health, and gambling treatment and prevention services across Iowa. We are seeking candidates for an HR Generalist to serve our Webster City, For Dodge, Ames, and Boone offices. The person in this role will work directly with managers on their team to recruit and retain outstanding staff members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Collaborate with the HR team to develop effective recruitment strategies.
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications, including verification of professional licenses/certifications and credentialing.
- Leads new hire orientation and onboarding programs.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Ensures that personnel files are maintained in accordance with industry standards.
Schedule:
- Type: Full-time
- Hours: Monday-Friday, 8a-4:30p (some flexibility available)
Education and Experience Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required and 2 years of human resources experience OR;
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field and at least 1 year of human resources experience preferred.
