Job Summary
The Human Resources Generalist is an intermediate level position responsible for the delivery of day-to-day HR operational support in coordination with the Human Resources department. The overall objective of this role is to provide a broad range of HR operational services to client groups within the Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA).
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, training and development, performance management, and offboarding, in concert with the HR Director.
- Manage the processing and auditing of DAGA payroll according to the payroll schedule. Continuously review the payroll process for recommended improvements.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks.
- Assist staff and leaders with the execution and understanding of HR processes including employment changes, benefits administration, leave management and performance management as assigned by the HR Director,
- Assist staff with interpretation of the employee handbook policies and practices.
- Assist the HR Director with initiatives to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion at DAGA, with a focus on DAGA's workforce.
- Help review, draft, edit and update job descriptions as needed.
- Maintain DAGA organization charts, key metrics reports, and the file management system used to support the HR platform.
- Collect, compile, and assist the HR Director with the review of compensation requests. Facilitate the approval process that extends to the Chief Operating Officer, Executive Director, and President of DAGA.
- Execute ad hoc requests and projects, such as audit support with our HR compliance function, employee survey preparation, rollout, and post survey interpretation to help determine suggested recommendations.
- Administratively support the training needs of the organization. Create and maintain a tracking and filing system to ensure the organization has a system of record.
- Ensure escalated client/employee issues are communicated timely to the HR Director for proper response.
- Handle HR-related administrative tasks, such as maintaining employee records and preparing HR reports and invoices for the department.
- Partner with Accounting/Finance/Compliance departments on any process or procedure changes.
- Work on assigned projects from the Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel's office.
- Stay updated on HR best practices and industry trends.
- Perform other job-related duties and projects as assigned by the HR Director, members of the Operations Team or the Executive Team.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years or more of relevant HR experience
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Previous experience in a political committee or campaign a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Experience with supporting employees who may reside in multiple states and remote locations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Able to prioritize projects and multitask as needed
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Intermediate- advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite, ADP, and other Human Resources Management Systems

Education:
- Bachelor's degree/ University degree or equivalent experience
Compensation Package:
- $68,000 - $73,000 salary

Closing:
- DAGA's office offers a hybrid work schedule with operating hours between 9 AM - 6 PM Eastern, but extended and nontraditional work hours are required.
