Job Title: HR/Office Manager

Position Summary: The Human Resource/Business Manager is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior management. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action, employment law compliance, office support of processes and procedures, overseeing customer care and promoting a positve work culture.
Work Hours: 7:30 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday, some overtime
Pay Scale: $25.00 - $33.00/hr depending on experience
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Manage harmonious employee relations at all levels. Collaborate with business leaders to determine the most appropriate approach to employee related issues while mitigating risks.
- Lead and develop a highly effective office team to their hightes potential through coaching, mentoring techniques, and servant leadership
- Provide guidance and coaching to managers and employees on HR-related matters, including performance management, career development and employee engagement
- Initiate creative techniques to support engagement in best practices
- Support office team by assiting them with answering phones, scheduling appointments, etc.
- Create agendas and facilitate monthly office meetings
- Oversee's A/R's in collaboration with accounting department
- Attend monthly technician meetings
- Use good judgement and effective pro-active communication
- Recruit, interview, referrence verifications and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Conducts or acquires background checks, employee eligibility verifications and submits 1-9's.
- Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel
- Support and assist managers with performance reviews and regular one-on-one goal setting meetings
- Performs one-on-ones with office personnel
- Performs benefits administration to include updating benefits in payroll software, facilitates open enrollment process, claims resolution, change reporting, and communicating benefit information to employees.
- Monitor leave of absences
- Conduct compensation benchmarking
- Work with department managers to build structure that encourages team members towards their and company goals using smart goals.
- Oversee continuing ed in all departments
- Ensure that EPA, NATE and other certifications are being assertained and continuing education hours are being logged properly
- Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files all required reports, maintain other records, reports and logs as is required
- Professional development, ergonomics, employment verifications, health and safety
- Updating job descriptions
- Take initiative planning departmental and company events
- Conduct exit interviews
- Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications: 3 years in Human Resource Management and Office Management experience is required. To be successful in this key position within our company we are looking for a candidate with a minimum of a GED or High School Diploma and someone who has proven their commitment to a company with longevity at one employer for at least 5 years. This position requires someone with great attention to details who is gently persuasive, highly supportive and a hands on approach to gaining quick resolution.
Desired Qualifications: 5+ years in Human Resource Management and Office Management is preferred as well as a BA in Human Resources or a BA in business, or the equivalent of 5 years without the degree would be acceptable as well. A PHR or SHRM-CP would be highly regarded.
