ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process payrolls and maintain payroll and compensation records for the site.
- Manage the recruitment, applicant processing, screening, and onboarding for the site.
- Effectively communicate benefit plans (health and disability) to employees. Assist with enrollments, updates, and benefit inquiries.
- Manage employee relations for the site including attendance and administration of FMLA, and other leaves in compliance with company policy, federal and state requirements, and in conjunction with Corporate HR.
- Maintain accurate records and design and update various spreadsheets for labor reporting, Corporate Accounting, and various projects.
- Post bids & awards for open job positions and perform accurate job tracking and AAP recordkeeping.
- Monitor CDL license renewals, DOT physical recertifications, and random DOT drug screens for the truck fleet.
- Coordinate workers' compensation claims with outside work comp administrator, providing updates and records when necessary.
- Maintain effective employee and union labor relations with direction and close coordination from Corporate HR.
- Handle confidential personnel data and sensitive personnel matters with the utmost discretion.
- Exhibit strong customer service skills in advising employees at the site.
- Perform other duties as directed by Corporate HR, Corporate Accounting, and the Plant Manager.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must demonstrate outstanding attention to detail, organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to be able to work effectively in a team-based environment.
- Ability to effectively multi-task within a variety of systems and projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma required; Associates degree in human resource field and/or equivalent experience/training preferred.
- Experience working with a labor union is beneficial.
- Experience with payroll/HRIS software is a plus.
