About the Job
GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
The HR Generalist will be responsible for professional human resources work partnering with management and employees in the areas of staffing, employee relations, organizational culture, compensation administration, compliance, benefits administration, and HRIS. The incumbent will successfully deliver high caliber HR service to Ridgeway employees.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works with assigned departments to develop and implement recruitment strategies to meet current and anticipated needs including advertising strategy and staffing agency relationships, to identify and recruit qualified candidates. Recruits and screens applicants for non-exempt positions.
- Assist with management of employee relations including addressing employee concerns, investigations and documentation. Initiates and coordinates all required documentation to complete the employment and new hire process for direct hires, temporary employees and during the conversion process.
- Maintain training records and training database
- Track training of all hourly and salary employees working for the plant
- Update training check list and training materials for all areas
- Administer written test and demonstration of skills in conjunction with area supervisors
- Track, schedule and facilitate reoccurring training and certifications.
- Track the training of new hire employees
- Implement a train the trainer program
- Conducts training programs including, but not limited to, new employee orientation, supervisory training, and staff skill development.
- Responsible for the recruitment, selection and staffing function ensuring department needs and all legal requirements are met.
- Responsible for data input and data integrity for the HRIS.
- Participates in company-wide Human Resource projects, taking project lead or other roles as assigned.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Participates as an active, contributing member of the Ridgeway Team.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- PHR or SPHR certification is desirable.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- BA/BS degree in Human Resources, Business or related field.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in a human resource generalist role.
- Experience serving a non-exempt manufacturing or similar population is highly desirable.
- Requires knowledge of human resource management, principles and practices and practical knowledge of employment law.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to utilize excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of employees within the organization, to express ideas clearly in written and oral communications.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
ADDITIONAL COMPETENCIES THAT ARE REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB:
- Ability to work in a fast-pace environment and multi-task. Ability to work effectively under pressure with people at all levels within the organization.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems, MS Office tools including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, are also required.

This position will report to the Manager, Human Resources.
