Human Resources Generalist at Nelson Forensics

About the Job
Responsible for delivering all facets of human resources throughout the organization to ensure Nelson Forensics (Nelson) is hiring and retaining the best possible talent. This will be achieved through the development of local and national recruiting plans, employing traditional sourcing strategies and resources as well as developing new, creative recruiting ideas under the general direction of the President.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Process monthly payrolls for Nelson Forensics and Nelson Forensics Holdings. Input payroll journal entries in accounting system. Coordinate with payroll provider regarding withholding rates and processes required reporting not managed by payroll provider.
• Work with brokers to evaluate benefit options (health, dental, vision, FSA, HSA, Life, LTD, 401k), including coordination with 3rd party COBRA administrator. Conduct open enrollment meetings. Answer employees’ questions regarding benefits. Prepare allocations for benefit invoices and enter in accounting system for payment. Perform annual FSA discrimination testing.
• Prepare monthly 401k contributions, match, and loans and upload data to administrator’s web portal. Annually upload data to 401k administrator for non-discrimination testing.
• Collaborate with Executive staff on recruiting needs and prioritizing those needs. Lead the development of a local and national recruiting plan for each open position. Provide weekly recruiting update to Executive staff.
• Coordinate and implement college recruiting initiatives. Attend career fairs and develop working relationships within colleges to aid in recruiting. Increase college awareness of Nelson through coordinating presentations at student group meetings.
• Post job openings on-line, with professional organizations, universities, and other appropriate venues. Create mailers, flyers, brochures, and other informational recruiting tools. Maintain job postings on Nelson website.
• Coordinate VISA credit card program: order cards and adjust credit balances as needed.
• Update job descriptions for all positions within the company.
• Review applicants to evaluate if they meet the position requirements. Coordinate and conduct pre-screening interviews. Maintain all pertinent applicant and interview data.
• Prepare and send offer packages. Create and mail declination letters. Perform on-boarding, including background checks for new hires.
• Work with Executive staff to maintain employment policies and procedures, and employee relations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Provide data to Workers Compensation provider for annual audit.
• Coordinate and maintain online safety training program.
• Work with vendor to order business cards.
• Maintain CV’s for licensed professionals.
• Maintain team member’s profiles on Nelson website.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
• Previous experience in recruiting and/or other Human Resources roles.
• Professional SHRM or HRCI certification required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and HRIS or applicant tracking programs.
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects. Detail oriented and organized.
• Strong leadership abilities and team player.
• Flexible and resourceful.
