The HR Generalist is responsible for a wide variety of human resources activities for the institution across multiple human resource functions including but not limited to employee relations, equal opportunity, organizational development, talent management and acquisition, benefits, compensation, and compliance monitoring.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide timely support to all employees, faculty and staff on various HR-related topics such as benefits, leave, compensation, performance management as well as resolve any issues that may arise.
- Responsible for navigating HR databases while working as part of the HR team regarding all phases of the employee life cycle.
- Managing the full life cycle recruiting process from requisition, job descriptions, posting, sourcing, and employee onboarding.
- Assist Managers with recruitment and interview process, including phone screens, posting job ads, scheduling applicants, sending application information, and gathering feedback as necessary.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits, including health and dental, PTO, FMLA, and general employee personnel issues.
- Schedule and conduct new employee orientation.
- Input new employee information into HRIS platform to create employee record.
- Maintain employee files in the HRIS platform, by updating yearly pay rates, personal changes and institutional changes.
- Effectively resolve and communicate to employee questions regarding all HR functions including but not limited to recruiting, benefits, compensation, performance management, yearly HR training, etc.
- Resolve general human resources concerns by interpreting and applying human resources policies and procedures.
- Administers Family Medical Leave (FMLA) accurately and timely.
- Assist with HR Audits by providing accurate data and information.
- Assist with year-end open enrollment initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and five years of experience related to the duties described above.
- Must have excellent customer service skills and be proficient in oral and written communications, exercise good judgment, must accept responsibility, and perform duties in an atmosphere of team-like cooperation.
- Extensive experience Excel and HRIS software.
- Must have the ability to work with minimum supervision.
Position Information:
- The pay range for this position is $75,000 - $80,000 annually.
- This position is subject to a background check upon a conditional offer of employment and a reference check.
