Job Summary:
The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- May oversee the scheduling, assignments, and daily workflow of subordinate staff in the department.
- May assist with constructive and timely performance evaluations.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Tracks and documents compliance with mandatory and optional training, continuing education, licensure, and certifications.
- Collaborates with department managers to recruit and hire qualified candidates, including managing background checks and onboarding.
- Administers HR programs such as compensation, benefits, leave, and employee recognition.
- Addresses employee relations issues, including performance management, disciplinary actions, and investigations.
- Oversees health and safety compliance and training initiatives.
- Processes payroll, ensuring accuracy in employee pay, tax withholdings, and benefit deductions, while resolving discrepancies.
- Collaborates with the finance team to maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with wage laws.
- Acts as the primary contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, compensation, and benefits.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, regularly reviewing and updating HR policies.
- Stays informed on HR trends, talent management, and employment law updates.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Skills:

- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- At least 5-8 years of human resource management experience preferred.
- SHRM-CP and payroll certification (CPP) preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.

Pay Range:USD $65,000.00 - USD $72,000.00 /Yr.
