About the Job
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Human Resources Generalist to join our Clients team as a permenant DIRECT HIRE. Under the direction of the HR Manager and in partnership with the Director of Human Resources, the HR Generalist will be responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management across designated business units. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5-8 years of industrial experience in human resources, particularly in a manufacturing environment, and must be fluent in Spanish (both written and spoken) to effectively communicate with our bilingual workforce.
As an HR Generalist, you will play a crucial role in supporting key HR functions, including employee relations, recruitment, compliance, compensation, benefits, and leadership coaching. You will work as a trusted advisor to management while fostering a positive work environment and enhancing overall employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Leadership: Partner with the EHS Manager to implement and maintain safety policies and programs to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- Employee Relations: Work closely with management and employees to resolve employee relations issues, improve work relationships, boost morale, and enhance productivity and retention.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage the recruitment, transfers, promotions, and terminations of non-exempt and plant employees. Facilitate the onboarding program, ensuring completion of new hire paperwork and a smooth transition for new employees.
- Compliance & Legal Knowledge: Ensure compliance with legal requirements related to employee management. Represent the company in unemployment insurance hearings and investigations.
- Performance Management: Coach and mentor managers on employee issues, performance management, and performance evaluations.
- Training & Development: Identify training needs for business units and individuals, and ensure effective training programs are developed and successfully implemented.
- HR Systems Administration: Manage the employee life cycle through our HR system (ERP), including data entry, offer letters, separation paperwork, attendance management, performance reviews, and benefit administration.
- Employee Engagement: Serve as a resource for employees on Ceridian, benefits, and employee engagement activities.
Requirements:
- Language: Must speak, read, and write Spanish fluently (required to communicate effectively with our bilingual workforce).
- Experience: 5-8 years of industrial experience in Human Resources, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field from a four-year college or university.
- Certifications: PHR or SHRM-SCP certification is a plus.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of HR processes and best practices, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to influence business decisions.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to address and resolve employee relations issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Other: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HR systems (ERP); experience with Ceridian is a plus.
