The selected candidate will support the human resource (HR) functions within the Corporate IT department. Responsibilities will include activities related to recruitment, onboarding, benefits, leaves of absence, and payroll. The ideal candidate will possess enthusiasm for the HR discipline and an inherent desire to exceed (internal and external) customer expectations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Recruit and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
- Administer on-boarding process for new hires, to include orientation
- Acquire background checks and determine employee eligibility verifications
- Process bi-weekly timecards to ensure accuracy and approvals
- Resolve issues relating to payroll
- Perform benefits administration, including new enrollment, changes, and communicating information to employees
- Process leaves of absences and unemployment claims
- Update employee records with new hire information and/or changes in employment status
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Produce HR related reports as needed and maintain organizational charts
- Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
- Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
- Understand and be able to interpret policies from Company employee handbook to managers and employees
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance

Job Qualification
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations and priorities
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
- Solid ability to analyze situations carefully and adopt appropriate courses of action
- Strong organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, discretion and confidentiality
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Human Resources related role
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, or related field - required
- SHRM-CP, PHR, SPHR Certification – preferred, but not required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- HRIS systems (Oracle/WorkDay experience preferred) proficiency
- Ability to schedule and manage meetings using Outlook and Teams
