Job Description: | The College of Public Health and Health Professions (PHHP) is recruiting for one position that will be hired at the Human Resources Generalist II (HRGen2) or Human Resources Generalist III (HRGen3) level. This position, reporting to the Director of Human Resources, will provide direct and indirect HR guidance and support to the college’s departments and programs. For the HRGen2: This position will be the primary point of contact and provide HR guidance to its assigned departments (quantity 3) within PHHP for all salary plans including Faculty, TEAMS, Postdoctoral Associates, OPS faculty and staff, Student Assistants including Federal Work Study, Graduate Assistants, Interns and Courtesy. Additionally, this position will work in tandem with the other HRGen2(s) and will serve as backup in times of absence or during periods of heavy workload. For the HRGen3: This position will be expected to serve as the HR liaison for two departments and the Office of the Dean, where it will have the dual role of HR department administrator and HR college level 1 approver. As such, for the Dean’s Office, this position will have a direct role initiating, managing, and performing HR actions including recruitment and retention, onboarding/offboarding activities, employee relations concerns, and other HR activities rather than serving only (or primarily) as an advisor/approver. This position will have his/her own assignment but is also expected to serve as back-up to the HR Director and as Team Lead to the College’s HR team which includes two Human Resource Generalist II(s). As such, a high degree of professionalism as well as a high level of expertise in all human resources activities is essential. HR Recruitment and Hiring Manager This position will also be the point person for the Graduate Assistant (GA) appointments within the College. Minimum Requirements: | Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. | |
Preferred Qualifications: | • Previous Human Resources experience, particularly with the University of Florida, strongly preferred. Additionally, for the HRGen3, SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), HRCI Professional in Human Resources (PHR), or HRCI Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) preferred. | |
