PrideStaff on behalf of a company in Dania is seeking an experienced Human Resources candidate who will be directly responsible for daily management of HR activities, primary the administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resources function. Manage the staffing process, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding. Ensure the organization’s compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES (Essential Functions): - Performed with independence
- Interacts and consults with managers in planning, approval, and implementation of staffing projects.
- Supporting recruitment strategies, posting/advertising, screening and applicant development, requisition/applicant tracking, and selection.
- New Hiring Process: Job description, Job Analysis, Offer letter, Benefit orientation, Handbook orientation, pre-employment process.
- Ensure Job description are up to date and compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct new employee orientation and staff training as needed.
- Identifying and clarifying employee issues and implementing solutions, including coaching and counseling.
- Serves as initial point of advice, problem resolution, and facilitation in the areas of employee, relations, performance management, and employee discipline; advises both employees and management regarding employee relations, policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Oversees benefit administration and open enrollment process to ensure employees have the information they need so they can make informed benefit decisions.
- Conducts regular communications with insurance agents and ensures agents providing benefit services are performing with the highest level of customer service and proactively meeting the needs of the organization.
- Understands the payroll process and acts as liaison for employees with payroll issues. Stays in ongoing communication with the payroll company to ensure an accurate and timely payroll.
- Maintains employee personnel files in line with company policies and government regulations.
- Coordinates ongoing training regarding safety for all employees in the company. Safety Training, Safety Standards and Audits.
- Responsible for and work-related injury reporting to OSHA.
- Writes and executes the Safety Manual for the organization.
- Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures agency’s compliance.
- Maintains responsibility for compliance with federal and state legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.
- Communicates changes in personnel policies and procedures and ensures proper compliance is followed.
- Assists executive management in the annual review, preparation, and administration of performance management program.
- Develop training materials and performance management programs to help ensure employees understand their job responsibilities.
- Create a compensation strategy for all employees based on market research and pay surveys; Keep the strategy up to date.
- Investigate employee issues and conflicts and brings them to resolution.
- Perform and assist managers with: Terminations, Employee Issues, Verbal or written warnings, employee, and witness statement.)
- Coordinates or conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation.
- Terminations: Exit Interview, Portability, Cobra, etc.
- Consults with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by the CEO, on personnel matters.
- Recommends, evaluates, and participates in staff development.
- Researches, identifies, and analyzes specific employee relations concerns and makes appropriate recommendations to management.
- Perform other related duties as required.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business.
- 3 years’ experience as Human Resources Supervisor or Manager.
- Knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, recruitment, employee relations, employee engagement, and employee development.
- Proficient Computer skills and proficiency in database management and word and excel processing.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching skills.
- Demonstrated ability to serve as a knowledgeable resource to the executive management team that provides overall company leadership and direction.
- Resourceful, well organized, highly dependable, efficient and detail oriented
- Strong work ethic and ability to self-motivate
- Strong time management and multi-tasking skills
- Strong mediation skills
