Position Summary
Provides assistance and support to the Hospital and Human Resources Department in all functions including, but not limited to FMLA, pre-employment testing, background checks, I9's, completing new hire paperwork, initiating new hire folders, ensure status of agency personnel and backup hospital recruiter as required. This position requires flexibility and confidentiality in all aspects of the job, and the ability to assist all employees, department Directors and visitors in a courteous manner according to hospital policy. This position has no responsibility for assessment, treatment or care of patients; however, the ability to communicate with patients of all ages is required. Performs duties and conducts interpersonal relationships in a manner designed to project a positive image of the department and the hospital. Works with supervisor/manager and other members of section or department to promote a harmonious work environment. Ensures that all contact with patients, the public, physicians and other hospital personnel are carried out in friendly, courteous, helpful and considerate manner. Answers telephone in a prompt and courteous manner. Displays concern and provides assistance or explains procedures as appropriate to callers or in face-to-face situations. Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers. Works with customers to identify areas and recommends solutions.
Position Qualification: (Training, Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities)
Minimum:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 1-2 years' experience in an office management setting.
Computer Skills:
- Intermediate computer skills
- Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and database
- Excellent organizational and communication skills (both written and oral)
- Must be able to handle several projects simultaneously in an accurate and successful manner.
- Ability to use computer and spreadsheets
- Great phone etiquette
- Great customer service skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize

Preferred:
- College degree in Human Resources or related field
- 2 years Human Resources experience in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of HR practices
- PHR or SPHR preferred
