HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST

The Human Resources Generalist will plan, develop, and implement a variety of Human Resource strategies and programs (or initiatives) to support the accomplishment of goals and objectives, foster an environment promoting organizational communication and understanding, interact with managers, supervisors, and employees on a daily basis to ensure Human Resources solutions are implemented and results are achieved.
THE POSITION
CareStar is looking for a motivated individual who:

- Maintains confidentiality as related to patient information. Any disclosures of confidential information made unlawfully outside the proper course of duty will be
- treated as a serious disciplinary offense.
- Follows the Acceptable Use Policy while using any information systems owned or controlled by CareStar, Inc.
- Serves as a resource to supervisors to interpret and explain policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations and make recommendations; serves as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering policies, and helping resolve work-related problems.
- Directs the administration of benefit programs; oversees, evaluates, and makes recommendations for annual renewals.
- Manages the recruitment process, including applicant pipeline, candidate evaluation process, onboarding and orientation.
- Manages Workers’ Compensation and unemployment claims, and serves as primary contact with TPA’s.
- Maintains and expands knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws/regulations affecting Human Resources management; identifies trends that could impact organizational objectives and/or optional resources; interprets appropriate laws and policies and advises management accordingly.
- Investigates and manages grievances and complaints; mediates workplace disputes, provides recommendations for resolution.
- Administers the performance management system and disciplinary procedures, including review of performance evaluations for compliance; provides guidance to supervisors on development of appropriate performance improvement plans or other necessary interventions to ensure enhanced productivity; identifies trends for employee and supervisor training and development; works with department leaders to develop benchmarks for evaluations.
- Plans, organizes, directs, controls, or coordinates personnel and/or supervisor training activities.
- Manages and oversees the process of all Family and Medical Leave Act and Americans with Disabilities Act events and ensures compliance with Department of Labor regulations.
- Oversees and manages the CareStar job description process; including generation, review, evaluation, position classification and compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act.
- Performs other projects and duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree
- One to two (1-2) years previous experience in Human Resources, or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.
- aPHR or PHR preferred, or is committed to obtaining one of these credentials soon after hire.
- Knowledge of State and Federal employment law, including but not limited to, Fair Labor Standards Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and current practices and trends.
- Detail oriented with strong critical thinking skills, ability to use logic and reasoning, and the ability to manage own time.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills and familiarity with payroll systems and suite of Microsoft Office programs.
- Valid driver’s license and car insurance as required by State law.
