Wee are looking for a
Human Resources Director
responsible for one of H&Ms largest operating units (revenue and geography) in the West Region in
Pomona, CAThis position is responsible for a geography spanning over 13 states and providing support to over 1000 employees. Overarching responsibility is to deliver consistent HR support for the regional business units in support of HWs strategic business objectives. To support employees and managers at all levels who are in the pursuit of business for HW. To work with Corporate HR to deliver consistent HR practices which are sustainable, executable and flexible. To positively impact field business operations by always using good HR practices. Additional specific focus is on the development of talent at all levels through defined talent management, succession and development programs.
Responsibilities:
Manage the implementation, administration and operation of functional Human Resources services for assigned regions.
Provide professional level service and results as it pertains to HR core functional knowledge of employee relations, recruitment, performance management, compensation, benefits and training and development.
Partner with region management on all HR activities and enhance corporate and regional business processes as opportunities are identified.
Ensure HR is aligned with regional business initiatives.
Ensure that issues are handled in a consistent legal manner (Federal, State, Local compliant) or through adherence to company policy, insuring limited exposure to the company.
Develop strategies and tactics to address performance problems and opportunities in the organization.
Provide consultative services and develop strategic solutions.
Build alliances with management and establish a valuable consultative role within the organization, operate as a trusted advisor.
Interpersonal:
Consult with regional management on appropriate organizational needs including talent strategies, specific staffing needs, management development programs and training initiatives.
Provide effective coaching, counseling and progressive disciplinary strategies on all employee relations issues, up to and including terminations.
Identify training needs with regional management; evaluate, plan and resource the appropriate training and development activities using internal and external resources.
Assist regional management with talent acquisition and talent management programs that meet the needs of the organization and insure effectiveness of overall hiring.
Counsel regional management on Human Resource policy, practice and procedures.
Specifically manage the West Region GOLD program which is focused on growing next level operational and leadership talent.
Serve as an HR team leader/player
Serve as part of the HR leadership team for HW, across all business units.
Serve as role model of HR practices within the HR organization.
Solicit and share best practices within HR community.
Volunteer on the development and implementation of enterprise-wide programs and initiatives.
Qualifications:
Education:
BA / BS in related Human Resources degree or relevant work experience.
MS preferred.
PHR / SPHR preferred.
Experience in a construction, heavy industrial or related industry a significant plus
Heavy emphasis on talent development or succession programs, a significant plus

HR Technical:
Working knowledge of fundamental employee and labor relations concepts.
Working knowledge of diversified recruiting methods, including an understanding of the legalities of recruiting with a focus on quality selection.
Working knowledge of benefits (health and welfare programs, retirement plans, disability and leave of absence programs, FMLA, Unemployment, Workers Compensation, etc.) (specific to California)
Strong knowledge of HR related federal, state & local laws (e.g., ADA, ADEA, AAP, COBRA, EEO, ERISA, Immigration, FLSA, FMLA, HIPAA, Title VII, USERRA) (specific to California).
Understanding of performance-based compensation fundamentals
Knowledge and demonstrated experience with training and the development of training.
Analytical and Organizational:
Ability to collect and analyze data in support of solving HR business problems or in support of general business initiatives.
Keeping personally organized and ahead of commitments and deadlines.
Talent Management and Development:
Knowledge of Talent Development programs specifically focused on building bench strength and being prepared for succession planning needs.
Ability to develop and deliver training or development programs.
Strong situational interpretation skills, ability to collect information, analyze and respond accordingly.

Wage Range:
$118,000 - $216,000/annually DOE
