Job Overview:
Beck Automotive Group, a dynamic and rapidly expanding dealership group with five thriving dealerships, a car wash, a collision center and a growing presence in restaurant ventures, is seeking an experienced Director of Human Resources to join our team. This role will oversee and lead all HR functions for the organization, ensuring that we attract, retain, and develop top talent while maintaining compliance and fostering a positive workplace culture.
This position reports directly to the Vice President and Controller.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
- Supervise the HR staff and payroll specialists, ensuring smooth operation and alignment with company goals.
- Serve as a strategic partner and liaison to executives, supporting organizational initiatives and decision-making.
Employee Life Cycle Management:
- Oversee recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding processes to optimize the employee experience and retention.
- Manage employee relations, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace environment.
Policy and Compliance:
- Develop, improve, and implement HR policies that reflect best practices and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Administer safety compliance and programs, including Workers' Compensation.
- Manage audits, including Workman’s Comp and 401(k) compliance.
Operations:
- Oversee benefits administration, ensuring employees have access to competitive and compliant benefits programs.
- Manage HRIS systems and ensure accurate file management for all employees.
- Support human capital management initiatives, promoting efficiency and organizational growth.
- Assist with compliance and systems support in regard to all applicable laws and regulations (including but not limited to: HIPAA, FMLA)
- Process calculations for Workers Comp accounting and payments
- Report injuries for Worker’s Comp and OSHA reporting log
- Submit and balance 401k payments, process loans and assist with yearly audit
- Process payroll calculations, overtime, bonuses, and commissions.
- Handle Unemployment claims
- Monitor time cards for discrepancies
- Enter payroll data into Reynolds system
- Reconcile all benefits medical, dental, vision, vacations etc.
- Process the payroll cycles and reconcile the employee paychecks
- Provide guidance to associates to ensure compliance with all FMLA requirements
- Responsible for compliance of HR related matters (e.g., I-9s)
- Conducts New Hire orientation
- Sets up training process for all new hires in KPA and ensure completion
Community Engagement:
- Act as a professional brand ambassador for Beck Automotive Group within the community.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership in payroll operations and ensure seamless execution by the payroll team.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational success.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of HR experience required, with demonstrated leadership and management responsibilities. Automotive industry experience preferred.
- Certifications: HR certifications (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) highly preferred.
