Are you an energetic, self-motivated, and optimistic person with good communication skills, and a passion for learning and continuous improvement? Nordic Ware is looking for a full-time HR Coordinator to support our HR functions - including recruiting, onboarding, HRIS, payroll, employee recognition and event planning - as a part of a small HR team. You'll work in a professional, friendly, creative, and team-based work environment. This position is ideal if you want to develop a broad set of skills in HR and would like a career path that could lead to an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner role in time.
What you will get to do:
- Participate in Nordic Ware's recruitment and employment processes.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to determine job requirements, create job postings and interview guides for hourly positions.
- Post positions in Applicant Tracking System (ATS), maintain recruitment records, update ATS, and close out positions when filled.Communicate appropriately with applicants throughout the hiring process to ensure a good candidate experience that aligns with the well-known, respected Nordic Ware brand.
- Schedule interviews and perform phone screens for hourly positions providing feedback for hiring managers within a timely manner.
- Participate in onsite interviews and coordinate with managers to determine next steps in the hiring process.
- Assist in preparation for new employee onboarding, scheduling background checks/drug screens and ensure accurate and timely completion of all required new employee paperwork.
- Ensure timely and accurate data entry into HRIS (ADP), EVerify and related systems. Run and disseminate standard reports as requested.
- Greet visitors arriving in the HR offices in a professional and welcoming manner.
- Participate in the planning of company social events, community garden, sporting events, etc.
- Order flowers/gifts/catering for employees for special occasions as directed by manager.
- Assist with regular company-wide communications.
- Train to provide back up support to Payroll.
- Maintain employee records, scheduling training and hearing/vision screenings, assist with continuous improvement and safety programs, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
What we are looking for in you:
- Bachelor's Degree preferably in Human Resources, business or a related field
- One (1)+ years of experience in Human Resources (including internships), Customer Service, or Administrative Assistance with an interest an HR career
- Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and strong interpersonal skills
- Bilingual in Spanish is strongly preferred
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentially and professionalism
- Self-motivated, energetic, optimistic, and interested in learning and continuous improvement
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and approach work with discretion and strong attention to detail
- Proficiency Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and interested in learning Publisher), Outlook for emails and scheduling calendar events. Experience in various HRIS is highly preferred (i.e., ADP, ApplicantPro, EVerify, benefit vendor portals, etc.)
- Experience working in a small to medium-size family-owned business preferred.
- An interest in cooking, baking and gardening
This position is a regular full-time position located in our corporate headquarters in Saint Louis Park, Minnesota.
