We are a rapidly growing organization in the Newark, NJ area. We are seeking to hire a HR Manager or Business Partner with Manufacturing or Industrial experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following responsibilities:
Job Responsibilities:
Employee Relations: Experience managing and resolving workplace conflicts and promoting positive employee engagement.
Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with OSHA regulations, labor laws (e.g., FMLA, FLSA, ADA),
- Ensure all HR practices comply with federal, state, and local labor laws and safety regulations, especially OSHA standards related to de-icing operations.
- Lead and manage workers' compensation claims and investigations in coordination with the safety department.
- Oversee the administration of employee safety programs and support training related to safe de-icing practices.
Staffing and Recruitment: Proven ability to recruit skilled labor and adapt hiring strategies to meet high-demand manufacturing roles.
Compensation, Payroll, and Benefits Administration: Administer employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
- Ensure accurate payroll processing across stations in partnership with the finance team.
- Regularly review and recommend adjustments to compensation plans to stay competitive in the industry.
- Change Management: Ability to drive cultural or organizational change, especially in dynamic manufacturing settings.
- Lean or Continuous Improvement: Experience with Lean methodologies or similar frameworks to improve HR processes and align with operational goals.
Performance Management
- Oversee the performance appraisal process for all employees, ensuring consistency and alignment with operational goals.
- Develop and implement improvement plans for underperforming employees, working closely with station managers.
- Manage disciplinary actions as needed while maintaining compliance with company policies.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Masters preferred).
Professional HR certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR). - highly preferred
Industrial Knowledge: Prior HR experience in manufacturing, warehousing, or other industrial settings. Understanding shop-floor dynamics is vital.
Technology Proficiency
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms, workforce scheduling tools, and data-driven HR decision-making.
Training and Development: Experience developing and managing training programs for safety, compliance, and skill enhancement.
Safety Collaboration: Partnering with EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) teams to promote workplace safety.
Leadership: Proven track record of leading HR teams and supporting leadership initiatives.
