Overview:
The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources department. This role will assist with various HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and recordkeeping. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented and have excellent communication skills.
Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Conduct New Employee Orientation
- Reviewing resumes and screening and/or interviewing applicants. Coordinating and schedule interviews with managers as needed.
- Assist with conducting background checks, reference checks, service letters, drug screens, BCC, OIG, etc. for New Hire Onboarding
- Creating and maintaining new hire, benefits and orientation packets.
- Data entry of all new hires, create ID badges and mailboxes.
- Assist with posting job openings on various platforms.
- Assist with EE offboarding.
Employee Relations:
- Maintain employee files and records.
- Respond to employee inquiries and concerns.
- Assist with employee relation issues, such as grievances and disciplinary actions.
Recordkeeping and Reporting:
- Maintain Time and Attendance records, including providing manager with timely progressive disciplinary action.
- Assist with payroll processing as needed.
- Update and maintain employee information in HRIS systems.
- Generate reports on employee data, such as turnover rates and headcount.
Administrative Tasks:
- Assist with yearly open enrollment.
- Employment and loan verifications.
- Maintain Provider Trust. EE verification for license/certification.
- Co-Chair of Employee Recognition Committee. Employee Recognition such as LTC week, Years of Service, Holiday/Birthday/Care Packages
- Assist with annual survey.
- Answer and direct incoming calls
- Assist with planning and organizing HR events and trainings.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and at least 1-2 years in a Human Resources or a related field.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of HRIS systems and employment laws.
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
