Job Summary
Aptive Resources is seeking a talented Information Management Specialist to join our team and support the Specialty Care Program Office (SCPO) within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The Information Management Specialist will specialize in utilizing VA data systems and data sets to develop, implement, enhance, maintain, and support web-based databases, dashboards, and reports.
Primary Responsibilities
- Database and Dashboard Development: Develop, test, implement, enhance, maintain, and support web-based databases, dashboards, and reports to meet the information management needs of SCPO programs, projects, and initiatives.
- Integration with VA Systems: Ensure that databases, dashboards, and reports seamlessly integrate with VA databases, data sets, and reports, including but not limited to the Corporate Data Warehouse (CDW) and Office of Information and Technology (OI&T) databases.
- Real-Time Data Acquisition: Ensure that databases, dashboards, and reports are capable of continuously acquiring and importing data from VA databases and datasets in real-time, eliminating the need for manual data entry.
- Training and Documentation: Develop administrator and end-user guides and associated training presentations, describing the purpose, background, design, data sources and flow, and step-by-step instructions for management (administrator) and end-users. Provide administrator and end-user trainings, including recordings, to facilitate effective utilization of databases, dashboards, and reports.
- Technical Support and Maintenance: Provide ongoing technical support, maintenance, enhancements, and updates to all contractor-developed reports and associated documentation. Facilitate the transfer of management to the Government upon conclusion of the project.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- At least four years of relevant experience required
- Proven experience and expertise in utilizing VA data systems and data sets, including but not limited to the CDW and OI&T databases.
- Strong proficiency in database development and management, with experience in web-based databases, dashboards, and reporting tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare or government contracting.
- Familiarity with VA or other government agency processes and systems.
- Certification in relevant programming languages or technologies.
