Volt is immediately hiring a Human Resource Administrative Assistant for a local leading organization in Albuquerque.
As a HR Administrative Assistant, you will:
- Compiles reports from database, including new hires/terms, pay changes and all employee personal data changes.
- Ensure all wage changes are within the parameters of the Pay Matrix.
- Handles outside employment inquiries, reference checks and DOT inquiries.
- Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, processing
- invoices for payment and communicating benefit information to employees.
- Assists employees with questions regarding benefits, to include the 401(k) and internal processes related to HR.
- Processes HR vendor invoices including Health, Dental and Life totaling over $2.5 million annually. Works directly with vendors to correct errors.
- Maintains DOT and personnel files. Tracks information used for Affirmative Action, DOT compliance, OSHA compliance and internal processes.
- Facilitates applicant screening process and applies established guidelines and policies on eligibility of applicants for hire and informs branches of such.
- Conducts new employee orientation; administers pre-employment tests; conducts reference checks.
- Ensures the timely filing of all records housed in the employment files.
- Works with moderate oversight or supervision. Exercises independent judgement in planning and completing work.
HR Administrative Assistant candidates must meet the following requirements for consideration:
- Work experience requirement: Previous human resource generalist, clerical, accounting clerk or office management experience.
- Education requirement: High School Diploma.
- Training or special skills requirement: Microsoft Office required. Age requirement: Must be at least 21 years old.
- License(s)/certification(s) required: Class D Drivers License.
- Driving record requirement: No more than 3 moving violations within three years. No DWI convictions.
- Ability to review, collate, and file paperwork, which requires reading skills, math skills, visual acuity, ability to grasp documents and record books, and ability to lift and carry files, ledgers, computer printouts and other books weighing up to ten pounds.
- Ability to enter data into computer, which requires ability to feel.
- Ability to communicate with other employees in writing and verbally via telephone and personally which requires the ability to communicate by talking and listening.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time in an office environment.
- Ability to be flexible in accepting assignments of varying nature to compensate for the office workload.
- Due to the varied job responsibilities of this position, the individual must be flexible with the duties assigned, demonstrate a good sense of priority and reflect a cooperative attitude at all times.
- Must work well under pressure.
