Human Resources Manager - Real Estate - Providence, RI
We are seeking candidates for a Human Resource Manager position with a highly successful real estate firm located in Providence, RI. This position will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, including employee onboarding and offboarding, labor relations, employee relations, performance management, and ensuring compliance with company policies and state/federal regulations. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of HR Generalist experience.
This is a contract-hire position that will pay $50-52/hr (depending on experience) within a 40-hour work week. This position is required to be onsite 5 days/week in their Providence office.
Responsibilities:
HR Generalist Duties

Provide comprehensive HR support to the organization, including employee relations, compliance, performance management, and policy interpretation.

Maintain and update employee records in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.

Driving the culture of the company through employee engagement and other tools.

Perform recruiting for open positions for the company and work with outside firms on specialty needs.
Onboarding & Off-boarding

Manage the full onboarding process, ensuring a smooth transition for new hires, including conducting orientation and preparing necessary documentation.

Handle the off-boarding process for departing employees, including exit interviews, benefits transitions, and documentation.
Labor Relations

Address and resolve employee grievances and disputes in compliance with company policies and labor laws.

Collaborate with management to foster positive labor relations, mitigate risks, and ensure legal compliance.
Terminations

Manage all aspects of employee terminations, including documentation, compliance with labor laws, and conducting exit interviews.

Work closely with managers to ensure proper procedures are followed during disciplinary actions and terminations.

Coordinate IT, Benefit and 403K Termination of services to employee and organization.
Compliance & Legal

Ensure HR practices comply with state and federal regulations, particularly in employment law, benefits, and safety regulations.

Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and external requirements.

Work with Employee attorney on any changing federal or state guidelines and changes to the employee handbook.
Employee Engagement

Develop and implement employee engagement programs to enhance company culture, promote retention, and foster a positive work environment.

Provide support and guidance to managers and employees regarding HR-related matters.
Benefits Administration

Coordinate and manage the open enrollment process with the benefit broker.

Provide assistance to employees with the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave management.

Onboard new hires into the 403B Plan.

Keep employees up to date on changes in the employee benefits.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred, but not required.

5+ years of experience as anHR Generalist or HR Manager role, preferably in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in HR software Paychecks, Employee Navigator and Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations, particularly in Rhode Island

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong organizational and time management abilities.

Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
