We are on the lookout for an experienced and dynamic Human Resource Manager to join our team in the construction industry. This is a permanent role, which requires a professional who can support business needs and ensure the proper implementation of company strategy and objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy, bridging relationships with management and employees, managing the recruitment and selection process, and overseeing benefits and compensation packages. If you have excellent leadership skills, work ethic, and a passion for improving the quality of our workforce, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives in alignment with overall business strategy.
2. Oversee the recruitment and selection process to ensure high staffing standards.
3. Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of human capital.
4. Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the organization.
5. Nurture a positive working environment by ensuring health, safety, and employment standards are met.
6. Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
7. Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other issues.
8. Manage the payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
9. Maintain knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
10. Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics.
11. Assess training needs and monitor training programs.
12. Administer and manage workers' compensation claims and benefit invoicing.
Qualifications:
1. Proven 5+ years of work experience as an HR Manager, preferably in the construction industry.
2. Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics and knowledge of HR systems and databases.
3. Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills.
4. In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices.
5. Experience in managing payroll.
6. Knowledge of workers' compensation and benefit invoice management is a plus.
7. People-oriented and results-driven.
8. Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
9. Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
10. Degree in Human Resources or related field.
11. Relevant certification in Human Resource will be an added advantage.
