About the Role
Under the direction of the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Generalist plays a critical role in supporting recruitment, onboarding, HR record maintenance, data entry, payroll, and employee engagement initiatives. This position involves partnering with employees and managers to ensure effective HR processes and compliance with policies and employment laws.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment & Hiring
- Manage end-to-end recruiting for hourly and salaried positions, including job postings, application screening, interviews, job offers, and background checks.
- Coordinate pre-employment physicals, drug screens, onboarding, and issuance of security badges.
- Track uniforms and maintain accurate onboarding records.
- Employee Records & HR Administration
- Create and maintain employee paper and electronic records.
- Process timecard corrections, vacation calculations for final pay, and updates in the HRIS system.
- Support offboarding by conducting exit interviews and updating HR records.
- Training & Development
- Coordinate and deliver training, including Hourly Code of Conduct and other employee and leadership development sessions.
- Maintain training records and partner with the HR Manager on new initiatives.
- Employee Engagement & Events
- Lead the employee engagement committee and coordinate engagement activities, service awards, and certifications.
- Payroll & Compliance
- Assist in processing weekly and semimonthly payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, federal/state employment laws, and EEO practices.
- Reporting & Analytics
- Generate ad hoc HR reports and metrics to support data-driven decision-making.
- Policy Guidance
- Provide advice and support to employees and managers on HR policies, attendance, timekeeping, and compliance.
- Other Duties
- Contribute to organizational development initiatives by leveraging change management techniques and best practices.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Marketing, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of HR generalist experience (e.g., payroll, benefits, recruiting).
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience recruiting for manufacturing or hourly roles.
- 1+ years of experience in payroll, benefits, and HRIS (preferably Oracle).
- Experience supporting night shifts or extended work hours.
- HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP).
