Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist plays a pivotal role in supporting a range of HR functions, including payroll administration, benefits management, and employee relations. This position is responsible for ensuring smooth HR operations by handling day-to-day HR activities, addressing employee concerns, and maintaining effective communication across departments. Your role will be crucial in fostering a positive workplace environment and ensuring that HR processes run efficiently.
Essential Functions
- HR Administration: Oversee a variety of HR responsibilities including payroll processing, benefits management, recruitment, employee leave administration, and performance and talent management.
- Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Regularly review and update HR policies and procedures to maintain compliance.
- Leave and FMLA Management: Administer employee leave requests and manage compliance with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
- Cobra Compliance: Ensure compliance with COBRA regulations for employee benefits continuation.
- Benefits Enrollment: Implement and manage new hire benefit enrollment processes and annual open enrollment for employee benefits.
- 401(k) Administration: Track and manage 401(k) eligibility for employees, ensuring timely communication and compliance.
- Support for HR Director: Assist the Director of Human Resources with disciplinary actions, terminations, and investigations as needed.
- Employee Inquiries: Address employment-related inquiries from applicants and employees, escalating complex or sensitive issues to the Director of Human Resources.
- Audit Assistance: Support 401(k) and other audits as required, ensuring accurate and timely documentation and reporting.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or commensurate experience.
- 3-5 years of applicable human resources generalist experience
