POSITION:Human Resource Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Director and Assistant Directors
DIRECT REPORTS: Interlocal Business Office and otherstaffas assigned.
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
GENERALDESCRIPTION
TheHuman Resource Coordinator(HRC)provides executive-levelleadershipandguidancetothe SEK InterlocalHR operations.TheHRC isresponsibleforsetting,enforcing, and evaluatinglegally complianthuman resources policies, procedures, and best practices, and identifying andimplementinglong-rangestrategicgoals. This position worksinconcertwith administrators and staff atall Interlocal programs and locations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct strategic planning to ensure the HR goals and processes are reflective of Interlocal goals
- Staff on-boarding activities. Including: Receiving and reviewing all employment paperwork, entering employee information into appropriate systems, confirming pay and benefits, verifying any employee required credentials, setting up new employees into payroll.
- Conduct classified intial training related to required information, employment polices and job expectations.
- Coach and provide PD to teachers/supervisors for best practice in supervising classified staff.
- Provides guidance and leadership to the Interlocal administrative teams; assists with resolution of human resource, compensation, and benefits questions, concerns, and issues.
- Participates in recruitment efforts for all staffing.
- Ensures compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations, and requirements.
- Maintains knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, human resources, and talent management.
- Develop and implement teacher/supervisor training and education program related to best practice in supervising classified staff.
- Evaluate benefit plans and consult with Interlocal leadership and board to ensure quality benefits for employees from a recruitement and retention standpoint and cost-effective strategies for the organization.
- Ensure job descriptions and classified handbooks are updated and reviewed regularly.
- Policy development and maintenance to ensure legal compliance.
- Conduct investigations into employee grievances and policy violations.
- Assist administration with development and utilization of a progressive discipline process for classified staff that is legally compliant.
- Attends training seminars, conferences, and meetings as appropriate or as requested by Interlocal leadership.
- Provides leadership and participates in quality improvement projects as appropriate.
- Ensures compliance with HIPAA, OSHA & other regulatory agencies.
- Oversees employee reward and recognition programs.
- Manage direct reports including hiring, discipline and evaluation of staff.
- Presents personnel policies, employee benefits and other information as necessary to the Board of Directors for approval.
Performs all duties, services and documentation in full compliance with SEK Interlocal policies and procedures.
Positively supports requests from the CEO and the Board when implementing policy and new programs.
Performs other duties as assigned.
- Monitors maintenance of licensure including re-certification.
- Conduct/oversee reference and exit interviews.
- Supervises unemployment and workers comp. Claims.
- Ability to learn and work within multiple software platforms for the purpose of employee records management and employee performance systems.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Reimbursable through the CAPS System by having a special education license. An administrative license or credential preferred.
- Experience in supervising and setting expectations with other.
- Classroom experience a plus.
- Human resource experience a plus.
- ValidDriver'sLicenseastravel is required.
