Position Summary:Your role is critical in partnering with the business to develop and execute our people initiatives.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Partners with EHS to pro-actively address improvements to our safety culture and assists with managing and monitoring Workers Compensation claims.
- Manages the leave of absence process by: guiding employees on how to file a claim to receive company and state benefits during the leave period; document, certify and approve leaves of absence; partner with managers to plan for employees’ leave and return to work;liaise between ITT’s benefits administrator, Payroll, and employees during the employees’ leaves of absence.
- Conducts thorough and objective investigations into employee complaints or concerns, as needed. Makes recommendations on the appropriate course of action for resolution. Drafts comprehensive reports on investigation findings and outcome/resolution and any other documentation resulting from the investigation, as needed. Escalates more complex, sensitive, or business-critical cases to the HR Business Partner.
- Executes assigned projects, as needed, including, but not limited to, merit reviews, Workday audits, and compliance training.
- Consults with managers regarding personnel related issues, including administering coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans, as needed.
- Drafts and communicates engaging organizational announcements that provide employees with useful updates on HR services and business information.
- Manages the exit interview process; identifies opportunities and areas of concerns requiring follow-up.
- Makes recommendations on HR process improvements and executes those process improvements, as needed.
- Facilitates the new employee orientation and onboarding process and ensures support to both managers and employees as part of the new hire process.
- Counsels employees on correct interpretation and application of company programs, policies, and processes; responds to related inquiries and concerns.
- Maintain HR files and records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy of all employee information.
- Leads employee engagement initiatives and prepares organizational communications for the site.
- 2 – 5+ years of increasing Human Resources experience, preferably in mid to large size manufacturing organizations.
- Customer-focused, pro-active, positive, and driven to achieve departmental and corporate goals in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong consultative skills and ability to partner with managers/professionals to understand needs and deliver solutions that meet or exceed expectations.
- Experience in an array of areas: recruiting, employee development, employee relations, training, compensation, benefits, and performance management.
- Track record of investigating and resolving employee relations issues.
- Knowledge of employment laws including Federal and California Leave Laws

Specific benefits are dependent upon whether or not the position is part of a collective-bargaining agreement. The salary offered to a candidate is based several factors such as candidate experience and qualifications, location, as well as market and business considerations.Equal Pay Act Range:Annual Salary Range is $63,000 to Max $94,400 plus benefits & incentive plans.
