Major/Essential Functions
Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) is seeking a highly qualified Senior Research Associate to join our Office of Research and Innovation. This position is designed for a dedicated individual to focus their research on the unique demographic and geographic contexts of West Texas and Eastern New Mexico. This role offers 100% protected time for research activities, facilitating extensive publication opportunities aimed at informing and developing solutions to improve health outcomes in these largely rural areas.Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conduct rigorous and innovative research focused on identifying the underlying causes of health disparities in specified regions.
- Develop and implement research methodologies that are appropriate for studying rural and underserved populations.
- Analyze healthcare statistics and trends within the targeted regions to produce actionable insights that can drive policy and practice.
- Publish research findings extensively in reputable public health, epidemiology, and biostatistics journals.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of researchers, healthcare professionals, and policy makers to design and evaluate interventions aimed at improving public health.

Required Qualifications
Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) or specialized academic training beyond the Bachelor's level in a particular field of science or engineering equivalent to a Doctoral degree. Two years research experience, knowledge of modern research practices, the methods, resources and standards thereof.
