Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Directs the needs assessment for training and staff development to enhance the effectiveness of employee performance in achieving the goals and objectives of the company.
- Consults with management on performance, organizational and leadership development matters. Conducts needs assessments to determine measures required to enhance employee job performance and overall company performance.
- Leads and directs the work of corporate training team members, evaluating results and performance and providing support and coaching.
- Accountable for project and program management including managing resources (internal/external), planning, scheduling, scope management, communications, and resource management.
- Identifies and manages external resources where appropriate for training or development needs including effective utilization of company online learning management systems
- Makes assessments of effectiveness of training in terms of employee accomplishments and performance to evaluate return on investment
- Evaluates and implements current practices across organization for effective employee performance management.
- Coordinates with site training resources on identified needs to support and/or consult on development of training courses, curriculum, or material.
- Selects or provides consultation on training tools or training delivery mechanisms, based on the material being taught and the audience being targeted.
- Partners with HR and leadership team members to develop plans and proposals to address developmental needs in support company succession planning.
- Monitors programs to ensure effectiveness, develops metrics to track progress and modifies programs to improve results.
- Improves systems, processes, and procedures to increase effectiveness.
- Management of assigned HR projects or initiatives
Job Specifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
- Prior management or supervisory experience.
- 5-10 years prior experience in human resources, organizational development or learning and development
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong presentation skills
- In-depth understanding of the learning and development concepts and principles and adult learning theory
- Works with independence and exercises sound judgment in all activities, exercising authority for planning, directing, and coordinating.
- Operates with a high degree of emotional intelligence with ability to connect with and influence others and build strong relationships across a wide variety of audiences and levels in the organization.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products, Learning Management software systems, and general office technology and equipment
- Familiarity with standard HR concepts, practices, and procedures
Working Conditions
- Office environment.
- Must be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods.
- Travel including local and overnight up to 20%
