About the Job
Key Responsibilities:
- HR Strategy & Leadership:
- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with company goals and California employment laws.
- Provide strategic guidance to leadership on workforce planning, talent management, and organizational development.
- Recruitment & Talent Acquisition:
- Oversee the recruitment process, including job postings, interviews, and onboarding of new employees.
- Partner with managers to identify staffing needs and develop strategies to attract top talent.
- Employee Relations:
- Act as a trusted advisor to employees and management, addressing workplace issues and facilitating conflict resolution.
- Promote a positive workplace culture through engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and open communication.
- Compliance & Legal:
- Ensure compliance with California labor laws, including wage and hour regulations, leaves of absence, and workplace safety.
- Maintain accurate employee records and prepare reports for audits or regulatory requirements.
- Compensation & Benefits:
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
- Partner with finance to manage payroll and ensure equitable and competitive compensation practices.
- Training & Development:
- Design and implement training programs to support employee growth, leadership development, and compliance requirements.
- Foster a learning environment that supports career progression and skill enhancement.
- Performance Management:
- Oversee the performance review process and provide tools and resources to managers for effective evaluations.
- Identify opportunities for employee improvement and recommend appropriate development plans.
- Health & Safety:
- Ensure workplace safety compliance with CA/OSHA standards.
- Lead initiatives promoting employee well-being and work-life balance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Thorough knowledge of California labor laws and regulations.
- HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., Paychex, BambooHR, ADP, Workday).
- Prefers the candidate who is native English with some Korean language skills. Korean doesn't have to be fluent.
- Prefers college graduates in the U.S.
