HR GENERALIST - Summit Pacific Medical Center
Whites, WA 98541
About the Job
Get to know Summit Pacific Medical Center:
Small Town Hospital, World-Class Healthcare. Summit Pacific is a public hospital district in rural Grays Harbor County, Washington. We are an organization that is dedicated to serving our community, putting our focus on innovation, population health, and improving outcomes. We operate an urgent care, provider clinics, and are a Critical Access Hospital. This means our community would not have access to quality medical care without us, and we take that seriously. That said, we are an easy 30-minute commute from Olympia (20% of our staff live in Thurston County), and are surrounded by charming small towns where many of our staff and patients live and thrive. Our vision is “Through Summit Care, we will build the healthiest community in the Nation.” We hope you will join us in this effort.
What we are looking for:
Our HR Team is looking for a senior HR Generalist with 5-10 years of Employee Relations and some experience in Leave Administration. If you are someone who loves solving complex interpersonal problems, conducting investigations, guiding performance plans, working within union agreements, labor laws, and HR best practices, our team has a place for you. Under the guidance of our HR Director, the ideal candidate can take the lead on the Employee Relations component of our operations, while mentoring and co-learning from our other HR Team Members. While experience in healthcare is not required, it’s certainly helpful. We have a strong need someone who is familiar with union contracts. This job requires an affiliation for policy, clear understanding of management principles, and the ability to use sound judgement.
Our department is in an in-between time; we are mid-implementation of a major technology product that will simplify our operations. We need someone who is tech-savvy, loves process improvement, and can help us transition from paper to fully digital. We strive to make data-based decisions while never forgetting why we are here-the love of people, organizational growth and management, and creating the best employee experience possible. We need someone open to learning and growing, and who is also an expert at consultation and teaching.
About the team:
We are a team of seven HR professionals supporting a staff of about 430. We have big hearts and big ideas. The best fit for us would be someone who is always ready to pitch in, lend a hand, and doesn’t mind working in a group setting. We jump at the opportunity to make improvements, are always laughing at work, and love to help. For some of us, this is a second career, and we bring our life-learned expertise to our roles. We operate as jack or jil-of-all-trades currently in our department, and are looking forward to bringing on someone who can own this part of the employee lifecycle. We often do potlucks, and share our wins. We strive for overall health and work-life balance.
