The Human Resources Generalist will play a key role in supporting the Manhattan Charter School Network with HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, compliance, and benefits administration. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR practices and procedures, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and making hiring recommendations.
- Coordinate new employee onboarding and orientation programs to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.
Employee Relations:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and management on HR-related issues, policies, and procedures.
- Handle employee relations issues with discretion and professionalism, including conducting investigations and resolving conflicts in a timely manner.
Performance Management:
- Administer performance review process and provide guidance and support to managers and employees on goal setting, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of performance improvement plans as needed.
Training and Development:
- Identify training and development needs within the organization and coordinate training programs and initiatives to enhance employee skills and capabilities.
- Assist in the design and delivery of HR-related training sessions, workshops, and seminars.
Compliance and Policy Administration:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks to reflect current laws and best practices.
Benefits Administration:
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding benefits inquiries and enrollment processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of HR experience, with a strong understanding of HR practices and employment laws.
- Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
Other:
- Salary Rage: 60,000 - 80,000 per year
- Work Hours 7:30 - 4:30 per day, On-site
- 12-month employee
