The HR Generalist provides Human Resources support across the community to less than 100 team members. This position works to create a culture that recognizes and rewards team members for performance and encourages development. Assures compliance with state regulations as well as federal and state employment laws. Position must be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the community and collaborate with others to enhance the workplace.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works closely with managers and team members to provide engagement opportunities across the community. This includes team member events and recognition programs for less than 100 employees.
- Supports team members and managers with guidance on policy interpretation and performance management.
- Assists managers with coaching and development of their teams as well as any investigations or disciplinary actions.
- Active member of the Safety Committee to help ensure the community remains focused on the safety of all team members.
- Collaborates with community leaders to creates monthly team member newsletter.
- Provides guidance and oversight on leave benefits such as FML, STD, LTD and Workers Compensation. This includes ensuring team members understanding and coordinating with the home office Benefits Specialist as needed.
- Works with Payroll to ensure required timecard corrections are made each payroll.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- SHRM certification preferred
- 2+ years in an HR Generalist role
- Knowledge of Federal, State and local laws and regulations governing Human Resources.
- Possess good skills in planning, organizing and directing.
- Ability to maintain and strengthen good working relationships with staff at all levels of the organization and to handle confidential information appropriately.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in computerized timekeeping and HRIS systems.
