What you will be responsible for
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented HR Coordinator to join our team. The HR Coordinator will play a pivotal role in supporting the People department with administrative tasks, employee relations, and recruitment initiatives. This individual will serve as a liaison between employees and management, ensuring smooth HR operations in alignment with our company's goals and culture.
Duties and Responsibilities
- HR Administration:
- Maintain and update employee records in HR systems and ensure compliance with legal standards.
- Process employee benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations.
- Manage payroll inputs, timekeeping, and attendance tracking in coordination with People Ops Director.
- Recruitment & Onboarding:
- Assist in sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates for various roles in construction and administrative teams.
- Coordinate onboarding processes to ensure a seamless start for new employees.
- Prepare and distribute offer letters, contracts, and onboarding documents.
- Employee Relations:
- Act as the first point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR policies, benefits, and workplace concerns.
- Assist with employee engagement initiatives and company-wide events.
- Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure adherence to labor laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
- Prepare HR reports, including headcount, turnover, and other metrics, for management review.
- Support audits and compliance reviews as required.
- Training & Development:
- Coordinate training sessions for employees, focusing on compliance, safety, and professional development.
- Track training completion and assist in developing future training strategies.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in an HR role, preferably within the construction, engineering, or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of HR principles, labor laws, and employment regulations.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and payroll software.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Familiarity with OSHA and safety compliance in construction.
- Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is a plus.
