The HR Assistant position requires strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively support the HR department and contribute to a positive work environment.
Essential Job Functions: Assist with posting job ads and screening resumes; schedule and coordinate interviews; prepare onboarding materials and assist with orientation sessions; and assist with training and development programs. Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records; manage employee files and ensure confidentiality; assist with payroll processing and benefits administration. Help implement and communicate HR policies and procedures. Assist with performance management processes. Assist with HR-related correspondence and documentation. Coordinate HR projects and events such as open enrollment meetings, holiday parties, retirement celebrations, special events, and monthly luncheons.
Competencies: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree in a related field preferred. Prior related office experience preferred.
Job Specifications: Must pass background check, credit check and drug screen.
Physical Requirements: This is largely a sedentary role, requiring use of typical office equipment.
