POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Overview:
The HR Assistant plays a key role in supporting the daily operations of the Human Resources department. This role is responsible for providing administrative support, maintaining employee records, coordinating HR projects, and assisting with recruiting, onboarding, and other HR functions. The HR Assistant is organized, detail-oriented, and has a strong interest in human resources.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in day-to-day HR operations, including maintaining employee records and updating HR databases.
- Provide administrative support for HR programs and initiatives, such as benefits enrollment, performance reviews, and employee engagement activities.
- Help with the recruitment process by scheduling interviews and communicating with candidates.
- Prepare new hire paperwork and assist in the onboarding process, including participating in orientations and setting up employee files.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Assist in preparing HR reports, documents, and presentations as needed.
- Answer employee inquiries related to HR policies, benefits, and procedures, or direct them to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist in organizing employee events, training sessions, and orientations.
- Help ensure compliance with labor laws and internal HR procedures.
- Prepare weekly reports and send out to appropriate personnel.
- Ensure adequate inventory of employee uniforms are available and place orders as needed for inventory and special requests. Distribute as necessary.
- Additional responsibilities added as necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in an administrative or HR role is a plus but not required.
- Basic knowledge of HR functions and understanding of employment laws.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with ADP preferred.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Working Environment:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:
- General office conditions, including periods of sitting, standing, walking.
- Regular day travel to other locations will be required.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20-25 pounds.
