About the Job
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Human Resources Specialist to join our client's team. This role is integral to the administration of HR functions, including benefits management, recruitment, employee relations, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to maintaining a positive and efficient work environment.
- Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm
- Shift: Monday-Friday
- Starting pay rate: $21-22/hr
- Temp to hire opportunity
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations, ensuring accurate payroll and insurance records.
- Reconcile benefits statements and ensure proper deductions.
- Lead recruitment efforts, including candidate screening, interview coordination, and applicant tracking in the HRIS system.
- Assist management in hiring decisions and coordinate onboarding processes, ensuring all documentation is completed prior to the start date.
- Conduct or acquire background checks and employee eligibility verifications through HRIS software.
- Oversee new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
- Address employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex matters to the appropriate personnel.
- Process terminations and conduct exit interviews.
- Stay updated on HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and employment laws to ensure compliance.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of two years of HR-related experience required.
- SHRM-CP certification is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Solid understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures.
- Exceptional time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly learn HRIS and talent management systems (Paylocity experience is a plus).
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
