Business Development Manager
Cajun Industries is seeking a Business Development Manager that identifies prospective work opportunities for the company, with a focus in the greater Gulf Coast area, working out of our Houston, TX office. The Business Development Manager will relate/engage, discover, advocate and support client/owners to promote the Cajun’s experience and capabilities while cultivating new opportunities to submit/provide solutions on future projects and opportunities. They assist in coordinating all facets of the business development initiative including contract negotiations, proposals, and presentations. This position will report directly to the Houston office Sales Leader.

- Articulate and differentiate Cajun Industries from competitors
- Discover and define value propositions for the bundling of Cajun’s core capabilities
- Discover and Communicate with Cajun Engineering Solutions for the development of Small Cap EPC pursuits/opportunities
- Core Capabilities
- Build and maintain effective long-term relationships with clients and owners while creating space for Senior Leadership introduction and engagement opportunities
- Travel to meet frequently and regularly with clients/owners
- Regionals, Tier II, Tier 1- 75% or more focus
- Deliver a steady stream of opportunities/projects for the benefit of Cajun Industries
- Lead/Support the proposal development efforts in conjunction with Estimating and Marketing groups
- Work closely through the Integrated Sales Process with Cajun’s Operations on all pursuits
- Communicate effectively and frequently with all Cajun stakeholders through email, phone, in person and consistent reporting methods
- Prepare and present effective presentations to clients/owners regarding Cajun’s experience, core capabilities and differentiated solutions
- Research Market and Industry to identify new market opportunities, industry standards/expectations/processes to better position Cajun in the market place overall
- Represent Cajun Industries in community/customer/owner and industry events in a professional consultative manner
- Communicate with client/owners to discover their needs, pains, and challenges along with critical scope/project/opportunity specific details/information for our internal solution development purposes
- Assist Operations with contract negotiation, management, establishment and renewal effort
Qualifications
- 10+ plus years of relevant industry experience in the industrial engineering, construction and services markets
- Strong background preferred in Cajun’s core capabilities
- Developed interpersonal skills and comfort working with multiple organizational levels (C-suite to Craft) internally and externally
- Must be results oriented, take a “hands on” and an engaged approach to deliver results
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred but can be substituted for documented experience and results
- Demonstrated ability to set, manage, and achieve business development goals/targets is required
- Understands how to identify, pursue and leverage market trends to create opportunities for Cajun Industries

- Occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs

- Occasionally required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, use hands and fingers to handle and feel
