Position Description
Position Title: Housing Inspector
Reports To: Housing Department Manager
Classification: Full Time/Exempt
Range: $35,000 - $50,000 Annually
Date: 09-18-2024
Summary/Objective: Under general supervision of the Housing Department Manager, the Housing Services Specialist will provide support for all Housing, Weatherization and Energy conservation
activities within the agency and provide assistance with housing specific development and delivery. The position will assist the Housing Department Leadership to coordinate all Housing programs and training
to ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and local guidelines. Position works with crews and contractors to ensure mandated installation, equipment, product and repair procedures are adhered to
and conducts Energy Audits and Quality Control Inspections. Position provides high-level support to Housing Department Supervisor and Housing Department Manager. Prepares reports, handles
information requests, database entry, and performs clerical functions to include correspondence, spreadsheet creation, and client communications.
Essential Functions:
• Responsible for daily operations of Housing Department Programs as assigned by the Housing Department Manager.
• Works with crews and contractors to ensure mandated installation, equipment, product and repair procedures are completed and adhered to.
• Conducts Energy Audits and Quality Control Inspections
• Completes all paperwork with efficiency and accuracy in regard to housing and weatherization program policies.
• Keeps current on all governmental and contractual regulations, procedures, and systems as they relate to program management and implementation.
• Advises and assists the Housing Department leadership in innovations for projects and programs.
• Responsible for coordinating assigned programs with community resources.
• Provide essential instruction, training, and direction for program participants (including PACT and Deconstruction), Staff and Volunteers regarding program activities and required
procedures.
• Assists Housing Department Manager with Student recruitment
• Maintain all programmatic and client confidentiality standards.
• Assists clients in attaining agency service; provides opportunities and resources during initial contact and appointment setting.
• Assists clients during in-taking process and in completion of necessary applications and paperwork.
• Assists in determining client eligibility for services within the Housing Services portfolio based on stakeholder and agency guidelines.
• Maintains hard copy and digital records of client eligibility and services as programmatically required.
• Attain or maintain certifications as required by programmatic stakeholders.
• Stays current on all regulations, systems, and procedures as related to the Community Service Program and Housing Program portfolio(s).
Other Functions:
• Position assists in the upkeep, repair and maintenance of CAAC facilities.
• Coordinate and complete project-based work.
• Liaise with internal staff at all levels.
• Implement strategies developed by Housing Department Leadership and CAAC Leadership.
• Attain or maintain certifications as required by programmatic funders and stakeholders.
• Other duties as assigned by Housing Department Manager and CAAC Leadership.

• Excellent time management.
• Knowledge of standard administrative practices and procedures.
• Knowledge and understanding of issues related to individuals and families in poverty.
• Ability to maintain client and organizational confidentiality.
• Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment, off-site venues, outside event areas, and construction job sites. Role routinely uses standard office equipment such as
computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The use of common residential construction tools will be required.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the
duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and/or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Approximate days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Official schedule will be determined upon
program needs. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel: Moderate travel required. Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
Required Education and Experience: Associate degree and/or certifications in building trade(s), housing, weatherization or energy efficiency related field preferred. GED with relevant and equivalent
work experience accepted. Certifications: Quality Control Inspector, Energy Auditor, Crew Leader and Retro-Fit Installer are highly desirable.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications: Commitment to CAAC goals and mission. Possession of a valid Driver's License.
