As a Housekeeping Supervisor, you will carry out our Mission of Love by supervising staff within a specified environmental service team ensuring work is done in a timely, efficient and professional manner in order to provide the best quality housekeeping service to maintain a clean, healthy, and safe environment at the standards set by Masonic Village for residents and staff in retirement living. Involved in any disciplinary actions and resolution involving those employees they supervise.
Our Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for the following:
- The demonstrated ability to oversee the work of an environmental service team and to work with other managers, supervisors, leads and their personnel to coordinate their efforts utilizing a team approach between individuals and groups to complete tasks and to trouble-shoot and solve problems.
- The demonstrated ability to allocate labor, set priorities, manage time and set requirements to ensure the environmental service team meets the Department's function for completion of work and assigned tasks.
- Supervise, schedule and inspect work as per Masonic Village housekeeping standards in designated area of supervision. Insure proper requisition of supplies and materials for the environmental service staff.
- Responsible for maintaining an established staffing plan through effective recruitment, interviewing and selection of the best suited candidates. Mentor staff through regular performance reviews and refer to continuing education programs. Adheres to the progressive discipline policy/procedure outlined in the Masonic Villages' Personnel Policy/Code of Conduct Handbook.
- Ensure personnel are properly trained in the operation and maintenance of equipment, systems, tools and PPE. Ensure the safety of all staff, observe practices of staff and report unsafe practices to your immediate manager.
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the annual operating budget.
- Be available for emergency calls as required and or weekend/holiday on call duty as indicated by schedule, maintaining availability to accept Switchboard calls and to respond to make repairs or provide help as necessary.
- Maintains work areas and vehicles in an orderly and clean manner, maintaining a safe workplace. Performs tasks in a safe manner. Ensures proper care and use of tools, equipment and supplies.
- Maintains professional growth and development by attending educational, technical and training programs, seminars and courses.
- Assists with snow operations on campus by shoveling and salting during winter weather conditions including the possibility of off hours call-in.
- Completes computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) generated work orders and provides clear documentation of work as required. Generates work orders for additional work or tasks identified in the field and completes or submits them as appropriate. Maintains an accurate work record of time for cost distribution and payroll.
What You Have:
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- A minimum of two years of leadership experience in a related field.
- Must have skills in allocation of labor, prioritizing, time management and supervision.
- Must have a valid Pennsylvania Driver's License.
- Excellent communication skills to all levels of staff.
- Strong written, oral, organizational and computer skills.
