Position Overview
The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for overseeing the cleanliness and maintenance of Sorrel River Ranch & Spa, by managing a team of housekeepers, assigning tasks, ensuring high standards of sanitation, and maintain proper inventory of supplies, all while providing excellent customer service and upholding safety protocols; they also help with the hiring, training and evaluating the staff performance within the Housekeeping Department.

Position Overview
The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for overseeing the cleanliness and maintenance of Sorrel River Ranch & Spa, by managing a team of housekeepers, assigning tasks, ensuring high standards of sanitation, and maintain proper inventory of supplies, all while providing excellent customer service and upholding safety protocols; they also help with the hiring, training and evaluating the staff performance within the Housekeeping Department.
Position Responsibilities
- Establish and/or implement standard operating procedures.
- Enforce policies and procedures
- Plan and coordinate the activities of housekeepers.
- Coordinate inspection or inspect assigned guest rooms, public areas, and any other facilities to ensure cleanliness and the standards are met.
- Apply human resource management skills, such as hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating performance.
- Oversee daily cleaning tasks, including room turnovers, deep cleaning, and maintenance of equipment.
- Complete monetary management tasks, such as setting and adhering to a budget.
- Maintain proper stock levels of cleaning supplies and amenities.
- Respond to guest concerns regarding cleanliness, address complaints promptly and provide excellent customer service.
- Assess guest challenges and take proper, prompt, and effective corrective action toensure the best possible satisfaction of our guests while ensuring financial viabilityfor the company.
- Oversee administrative tasks i.e.: payroll and scheduling.
- Assist your housekeeping team as volume/occupancy demands.
- Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to,providing supervision and professional development, scheduling, conductingcounseling, staff evaluations and promoting employee recognition programs.
- Ensure the proper handling and greeting of all VIP and Special Attention Guests.Ensure all special guest services requests are met prior to their arrival.
- Actively promotes a workplace culture that anticipates guest needs and exceeds guestexpectations.
- Be completely knowledgeable with respect to all facilities.
- Manage the daily loss prevention initiatives within SRR, ensuring both guest andteam member.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by Ownership and Senior Management
Education/Experience
- Previous experience working in housekeeping is required.
- Previous supervisor or manager experience is an asset.
- Human resource management skills such as recruitment and training
- Basic accounting skills
- Good customer service skills
- Purchasing and inventory skills are an asset.
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHIMIS) certification is an asset and may be required.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Energetic and outgoing, with a cheerful outlook, driven to provide outstanding guestservice.
- Professional appearance, demeanor, and attitude
- Proven history of training and developing strong teams.
- Minimum of 5 years Front Office/Rooms Operations experience in a luxury Hotel orrelated industry
- Ability to adapt with emerging best practices and industry innovation.
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to lift to fifty pounds.
