POSITION SUMMARY
Our outstanding Housekeeping department is responsible for the care and maintenance of restrooms, offices, and buildings. This position performs various cleaning tasks to provide all staff and visitors a safe and clean environment at the Zoo. A friendly customer service attitude and a commitment to our mission is a must!

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
Reports directly to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Clean Restrooms (male and female) including sinks, toilets, and mirrors.
• Mop floors and sanitize area at least once each day and more often if needed.
• Maintain adequate paper supplies and soap as needed.
• Empty indoor trashcans from all buildings on a daily basis, or as needed.
• Vacuum buildings on a daily basis or as needed.
• Clean commissary daily, including mopping floor, clean tables and sanitize floor and tables, as well as collecting trash.
• Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES NEEDED
Must have the following abilities:
• Maintain a friendly, courteous attitude when in contact with public or Zoo staff.
• Maintain a clean and well-kept appearance.
• Ability to follow directions from the supervisor.
• Ability to stand walk bend and lift throughout the day as well as safely lift 50 lbs.
• Willingness to work in all types of weather.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION
• Utah's Hogle Zoo is a drug-free workplace. All employees are subject to random drug testing.
• Provide a negative TB test prior to hire date and maintain TB testing through course of employment.
• A valid driver's license is required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Tasks require a variety of moderately heavy physical activities which generally involve muscular strain. Requires activities related to walking, standing, bending, stooping, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, and seeing. Common eye, hand, finger dexterity required to perform essential functions. Exposure to cleaning, and sanitation chemicals heat, cold, noise, dust, and fumes. Requires lifting of up to 50 l
