The cleanliness of a hotel is one of the main reasons that keep our guests returning to and recommending our hotels to friends and family. It goes without saying that hotel housekeeping team has one of the most important roles that take place in a hotel daily.
We are looking for individuals with great attention to detail to join our Housekeeping team as a House Attendant. The ideal candidate creates a memorable experience for our guests through their attention to detail and care they take in preparing and maintaining the public spaces and assisting the room attendants. This role truly is the “Heart of the House” and provides key services for our guests to truly relax and enjoy their stay. A great housekeeping team can make a guest stay go from OK to Outstanding!
Your Role:
- Clean all public areas in the prescribed manner while following department standard operating procedures.
- Keeps all guest corridors and emergency stairways neat, vacuumed and dusted. Makes sure mirrors, furniture, lighting fixtures, floors, ashtrays, elevators are clean and mark-free, keep doors tracks free from debris.
- Keeps all vending machine rooms, service elevator landings, stairwells and linen storage rooms clean by sweeping, mopping and dusting the areas.
- Keeps linen closet clean and mopped, including stocking linen closets with amenities and supplies with proper allotment for room attendants; may include taking supplies directly to room attendants.
- Empty room attendant carts of soiled linen and trash.
- Remove all linens and trash from guestroom upon guest check out.
- Clean and remove spots from corridor walls and doors.
- Assists room attendants as required. Includes moving beds and furniture, turning mattresses, removing or hanging sheers and drapes.
- Keep equipment and machines in top condition including inspecting for safety hazards. Reports safety hazards to supervisor, manager, or director.
- Constant awareness of safety hazards (i.e. broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks and suspicious persons) and report to Floor Supervisor or the Housekeeping Office.
- Practice safety standards always. Remain alert, courteous and helpful to guests and co-workers always. Follow all training procedures set forth in the “Bloodborne Pathogens Program”.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Six (6) months housekeeping experience within a resort/hotel, commercial, or hospitality industry or similar, desirable.
- Neat, pleasant personality.
- Ability to speak, read, and understand basic instructions, room numbers and dates English.
- Ability to work on your feet for an extended period.
- Ability to communicate, collaborate, and interact with others positively and effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as a team. Willing to jump in and help others where needed.
- Must attend training related to position, Company values, policies, and procedures.
- Must be reliable, able to work weekends, nights, holidays, and overtime as required.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work; especially, during the winter season.
