About the Job
The position will be full-time and seasonal during the dates of April 1, 2025 -- November 15, 2025. Duties of the Housekeeper include keeping storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy
Carrying linens, towels, toilet items, and cleaning supplies, using wheeled carts
Cleaning rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, elevators, stairways, and other work areas so that health standards are met
Emptying wastebaskets, clean ashtrays, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas
Sweeping floors, using brooms, mops
Replenishing supplies, such as drinking glasses, linens, writing supplies, and bathroom items
Vacuuming rugs, carpets, and dusting furniture
Sanitizing equipment and supplies
Observing necessary precautions required to protect guest property and report damage, theft, and found articles to supervisors
Sorting, counting, and marking clean linens and store them in linen closets
Washing dishes and cleaning kitchens, cooking utensils, and silverware
Must be flexible, communicate effectively, speak clear English, be a team player
Weekends, nights and holidays a must. Employees will work Mon-Sun average of 35 hrs/wk
Must be able to work up to 7 hours per shift within 8:00 am to 10:00 pm any day of the week, days off rotate, shifts vary
This job requires continuous movement, regularly bending, lifting, pushing
No minimum education is required
The wage is $15.05 an hour
All deductions will be made from paychecks that are required by law
No other deductions will be made unless voluntarily agreed upon
Overtime may be available at a rate of $22.58
Wages will be paid bi-weekly, and the employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. On-the-job training is provided
Soha Hospitality Solutions Inc dba North Star Hotel provides workers with all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job at no charge
Transportation is not provided. This posting is being made in connection with an application for H-2B workers
The employer will reimburse the H-2B worker in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker
If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work
Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer
The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distance involved
Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts
The employer will provide housing at a cost of $80 per week
This is optional and is not a condition of employment
The deduction will be made from the employee's check if agreed upon
Alternatively, the employer will assist the workers to find suitable housing within walking distance of the worksite
